Nearly two weeks ago I was MIA online as I was organising a competition offline for school. I spent some important blogging time preparing some crafted prizes for the students who took part. Here's an update on how to make some quick party-favours, gifts or stocking fillers.
First up - magnetic bookmarks.
To make some of these, you need:
Dollar store/pound shop magnetic bookmarks; decorative paper; tacky glue; Mod Podge and an optional embellishment.
1. I found packs of 5 magnetic bookmarks for £1.
2. I drew around the bookmark and cut out the paper shape.
3. Cover the bookmark and paper in tacky glue. Leave it to dry. Use scissors to trim the edges. My exacto knife ripped the first one I tried with.
4. Place any embellishment on the top. I chose letters. I then covered it in Mod Podge, including the edges. Once it was dry, it was perfectly ready to use.
I also embellished some notebooks using Washi tape. I used a bit of Mod Podge to secure the letter on!
These two gifts formed the basis for a little pack of stationary and chocolates. I have already seen a couple appear around school...so they are officially cool enough for teenagers! In the end, the hard work and lack of blogging was worth it. The girls were excellent in the competition and really appreciated my hard work for them. I couldn't have been more tired or proud.
I hope you like them!

These are cute! You are definitely making good use of the washi tape with the cute flowers (I still have not done a washi tape project - this sucks!).
And I love that you officially got the picky teens stamp of approval ;-) The notebooks are my favorite!
xo
